The Yew Tree Inn Bunbury

The Yew Tree Inn is a rather handsome village pub, built by The Earl of Crewe in the 19th century.

Inside you’ll see that it has open fires, old beams and a great big bar plus the odd twist or two that befits the quirkiness of this beautiful corner of Cheshire. There is a wonderful summer terrace for al fresco dining and events.

They offer freshly made, locally sourced food from a seasonal menu with daily specials combined with informal service in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. At the bar you can find an eclectic range of spirits including an ever growing single malt collection, plus an extensive wine list and a cracking range of real ales.

The team of chefs change the menu every eight weeks to reflect seasonal changes and you also can find a daily changing specials board in the pub.

They use as many fantastic local producers as possible with most of their beef, lamb, pork and seasonal vegetables coming from Bunbury Heath itself and the Broster family in fact, most recently they had freshly picked beetroot, carrots, lettuce, mint, spinach, new potatoes, free range eggs, whole Charollais lambs, great Hereford beef and Oxford Sandy & Black pork.

The bar is the heartbeat of The Yew Tree Inn, a place to chat with friends and unwind away from the outside world  and you can be comfortable in the knowledge that all of their products have been painstakingly researched.

You’ll find theirr house bitter, Stonehouse Brewery’s “Station Bitter”, joined by up to five guest ales from the length and breadth of the country. They usually have a selection of local ales to try, anything from a mild, to pale and hoppy, to IPA’s to good old English best bitters. They are now included in The Good Beer Guide 2012, the best guide to use when looking for great beer.

They see thier wine list as a continuing evolution always trying new wines, varieties and ideas and when they discover wines they love, they will share the costumers.  Their list currently has over 50 wines, from old school Bordeaux, Chablis & Sancerre to the new wine heartlands of Chile, Argentina, Mexico, etc.

Thaey have 10 wines by the glass.  They focus on value for money and affordability. They also have their monthly wine where they really can showcase something special with a price not necessarily to match.

Their own Wine Club  enables to purchase wines from the pub wine list at special take home prices and they also offer mixed case deals.
