Rioja White Wine Urbina 2011

This wine comes from a plot where the family Urbina cultivates the Viura grape variety, the vines are more than thirty years of age, and the soil is calcareous clay and alluvial soil, in the north-western part of La Rioja Alta.

A cold maceration is performed before the alcoholic fermentation, in other to extract the flavours of the grape skins, right after the alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature, and then the wine is age on its lees, gaining in volume, elegance and complexity.

The Urbina white wine has a light golden yellow colour. On the nose, there is a perfect balance between fruit and wood, showing aromas of white fruit and certain scents of citrus fruits, on the background we find elegant aromas of white flowers and acacia. On the palate is very subtle, elegant, and slightly creamy, with a lingering finish. A great wine of the variety Viura.
